Educating children,
adults
and adults with disabilities on fire safety and fire
prevention is an extremely worthy cause and one that the
OCFM Board of Directors and Education Advisory Committee
members want to recognize.
This year we will recognize
the 1st recipient of the award, and we will continue
to show our appreciation to these volunteers by recognizing
them annually.
The Grand Opening
of the Fire Safety Education Center and the 1st Annual Award
Ceremony for the Orange County Fire Prevention Educator of
the Year will take place at the Fire Safety Education Center
of the Orange County Firefighters Museum at 141 Clinton
Street in the Village of Montgomery on Saturday, June 4th
from 5 to 7 pm.
This year's recipient is
Amy Conner (John Conner's daughter, elementary school
teacher in Newburgh and volunteer with Good Will Fire
Department). Amy will be given a plaque for her FD, there
will be a plaque in the museum's education center with names
to be added annually.
